Description

In her paintings, the artist Patricia Iglesias Peco employs long sweeping gestures, liberal use of watery oil paint, and bellicose brushstrokes to create a dynamic choreography between floral and plant bodies. A whimsical tension infuses Iglesias Peco's unconventional artworks, blurring the lines between the grotesque and the exquisite, the repulsive and the captivating.

With these monotypes, the first of her career, we sought to bring Iglesias Peco's practice into the world of printmaking. She treated the aluminum printing plate like her canvas, resulting in a series bursting with vibrant expressions of form and hue. Subsequently, through meticulous hand-finishing, each monotype received its individual attention, becoming a one of a kind work.
